Inside and out, the 2023 Dodge Hornet boats aggression with a side of refinement. Standing in front of the Hornet, you’ll find it to have an aggressive look, with a wide grille with a mail-slot opening and a Rhombi symbol positioned in the middle. Beneath the main grille is a large bottom grille to provide greater engine airflow and under-car aerodynamics. The hood features functional dual heat extractors as standard equipment, boasting muscle car style and providing optimal engine cooling. The design flows front to back with a streamlined, aerodynamic appearance featuring muscular curves and sharp edges. Along the bottom of the vehicle all the way around, you’ll see black cladding to give it a hint of ruggedness. The rear features an LED light strip that connects both taillights with an illuminated Rhombi symbol at the center. The interior design is comfortable, convenient, and high-tech. It features the driver-focused layout that Dodge is known for with the center stack shifted slightly to face the driver. Behind the steering wheel is a new standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that can be customized with a wide variety of menu options. Atop the center stack is a 10.25-inch horizontal infotainment touchscreen running the latest Uconnect 5 software. The ignition button has been moved to the center stack for the hornet for a more intuitive experience. Other standard features include dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, six speakers, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, and more.
What Powers the 2023 Dodge Hornet?
The 2023 Dodge Hornet may be a CUV, but it is still a Dodge, and Dodge is known for its performance. Standard equipment for the Dodge Hornet is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 268 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque for a 6.5-second 0-60 time. The engine is linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels with an intelligent all-wheel drive system. The Hornet’s AWD system comes standard with Active Torque Vectoring. With this, the engine will reduce power to the inside wheels and increase power to the outside wheels when going through a corner to provide impressive grip while cornering. The R/T trim comes with Dodge’s first-ever plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Hornet R/T features a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine powering the front wheels and a rear axle-mounted electric motor powered by a rechargeable EV battery to drive the rear wheels, combining to provide all-wheel drive confidence. This setup gives the R/T over 285 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 time of just 6.1 seconds!
